Step-by-step Surrogacy Process

This process is known as In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

3. Once the embryo is transferred inside the womb of the Surrogate Mother, the first stage of pregnancy begins. After one and a half weeks, the surrogate mother is tested to know whether the pregnancy has taken place or not (by checking the heartbeat of the baby), if it fails, then the entire process (IVF) is repeated till pregnancy is achieved. 4. After that the Surrogate Mother is shifted to the Surrogate Home, where she is taken care of. She is called for routine check-ups, ultrasounds and more. 5. After 3 to 4 months, the intended mother is called to the clinic, where she is injected with Lactogen medicines which allow her to breastfeed the baby after delivery.
6. When, after 9 months, the surrogate delivers the baby (normal or C-section delivery), the baby is given to its intended parents.
7. Also, the intended parents are given the Birth Certificate of the child, which states them as the birth parents.
