Dr. Sarat Battina

Dr. Sarat Battina is the director of reproductive medicine and consultant gynecologist in Chennai at Indigo Women's Center. Having done his graduation and master's from Kurnool medical college, Andhra Pradesh, he had undergone IVF training at National University Hospital, Singapore under the supervision of Prof. S.S Ratnam and Dr. NG Soon Chye and King’s college school of medicine, London under Dr. John Parsons. Dr. Sarat is the pioneer of fertility treatment in South India, delivered the first GIFT baby of Tamil Nadu in 1989, the first IVF twins of South India in 1991and the first IVF baby from a frozen semen sample in India. He was in charge of the IVF program at Apollo Hospital Chennai since 1989.
Dr. Sarat Battina's career spans three decades with many prestigious awards consisting of the “Young achiever award" by JCI, Ugadi Puraskar Millennium award” by Madras Telugu Academy 2000. He is a guide for a post-doctoral fellowship in reproductive medicine at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University in 2012 and a Ph.D. program in reproductive medicine at Dr. MGR Medical University. Convener for the prestigious exit examination in 2013 for post-doctoral fellows of reproductive medicine. Dr. Sarat Battina is also a certified robotic surgeon by Intuitive Surgicals, Strasbourg, France 2011. He addressed and presided many FOGSI and IMA meetings and is a professional member of FOGSI, ISAR, ESHRE, and ASRM.
Dr. Sarat Battina is the best gynecologist in Chennai and has many national and internal paper presentations to his credit and also contributed a chapter in “Textbook of infertility” by Dr. Jayakrishnan. He conducted several camps in and around Chennai. Dr. Sarat Battina, with extensive experience and passion in all aspects of assisted reproductive technology, continues his service intending to maintain high success rates in infertility and introduce new technologies in this field.
